And his ball winning
He won possession back nine times in the Everton game, more than any other player on the pitch

I agree with pD to an extent, Lanzini hasn't been as potent a threat since coming back from his injury.
Even so I would pick him for his ball retention, he keeps things ticking over nicely in the middle.

Lanzini on the bench?
He is in the top 15 attacking mids for pass completion in the whole of Europe and connects the defence to attack so we don't have to long ball...

Dunno, need Kayoute in the team though.
He is a BEAST. He has CRAZY EYES.
And he can be pretty darn good, especially in games of this ILK.

Re: Team for Chelsea?

I think you can start a little bit more defensive with Lanzini in the centre of midfield. You can go on the attack if need by pushing him wide and moving Payet to the centre.
Probably start with Sakho against a slower Chelsea back line and bring Carroll on later, when they are tired. He can do it again, just not so late this time.
So
Adrian Byram Reid Ogbonna Cresswell Obiang Lanzini Noble Antonio Payet Sakho

Chelsea generally play with 4 offensive players at home so I would be happy to match that up because we're better.
Adrian Byram - Reid - Ogbonna - Cresswell Noble - Kouyate Antonio - Lanzini - Payet Sakho
Randolph Oxford Song Obiang Valencia Carroll Emenike

Exactly how i see it.
Lanzini is important to us as I think he allows Payet a bit more freedom. When they link up it can be devastating. The sharpness in which they think and can move is almost unplayable for the oppo.

Stewie - I'm not saying he's been poor by any means. But at the end of the day you want your flair playes producing? We have other players that can keep the ball and graft.

Agree. I think he's been quietly superb. Hasn't got the headline grabbing goals and assists from earlier in the season, but almost never loses the ball and does a lot of graft.

Face - Yea, I reckon he can do more and isn't playing as well as he was earlier in the season, particuarly when it comes to hurting the opposition. Disagree?? I couldn't give one fuck.

Lanzini has to start, as does Sakho.
We're going to win this. 3-1.

I don't think he's done anything wrong but Id just start with a slightly more defensive team to begin with and then open it up later if needed. I know Chelsea are nothing special at the moment but it's still a tricky game

Re: Team for Chelsea?

think I would go.......
Adrian
Byram - Reid - OG - Cressers
Kouyate - Obiang - Noble(c)
Antonio - Payet
Sakho
Not that formation but that starting 11. Lanzini to start on the bench personally. I have no problem with him starting though. We have some unbo options now.

I don't see that he's done much wrong recently, to be honest.

Re: Team for Chelsea?

Last three games Lanzini has been mustard. Constantly involved and has had 90%+ pass completion.
The bloke is silky as fuck, and you reckon he needs to step up?

Buster - While that may be true, how long do you keep getting picked on reputation? I know he had that lay off but the lad needs to start stepping up again.
